The well-acclaimed Brazilian composer,
Flávio Venturini, is one of the biggest
representatives of the culture of Minas
Gerais. Together with Milton
Nascimento and other
renowned Brazilian
musicians, Flávio
participated in the
foundation of the Clube
da Esquina, one of
the most
innovative movements of Brazilian popular
music. His daring work mixes influences
from classical music, progressive rock,
american music, Bossa Nova, and traditional
Brazilian folk music. He is author of great
hits, such as: Todo Azul do mar,
Espanhola, and Noites com sol.
Flávio also took part in other two groups
before starting his solo career: “O
Terço”, one of the most important
Brazilian progressive rock bands,
and, “14 BIS”, the group which
made him internationally famous
and with which he released 8
CD’s.
His solo career adds up to 11
CDs, amongst the historical
Nascente (1982), Noites com
sol, (awarded a gold record in
1995), Trem Azul (1998) and
Linda Juventude (1999/ CD and
DVD).
